Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Why can’t we give a book more than five stars? This one deserved a million of them.
I’ve read a lot of good books but this duology really hit the spot. It had everything I have always loved in a good story: great but flawed characters, found family, action that doesn’t feel like a filler, suspense, wonder, magic… too many to name here.
The romance is sweet and sour, heartbreaking at times, spirit-lifting at others, lyrical and sexy all at the same time. This duology contains the sexiest, most romantic sex scene I have read in a long time. It’s done so well that it comes across as a mixture of heat and poetry, proving that sex scenes do not have to be clinical or crass to be toe-curling and fire-igniting.
I am so jealous of Ms. Gillig’s talent for the written word and grateful that she decided to share it with the world.
Absolutely stunning. I already picked up “The Knight and the Moth” for my next read.
Thank you, Ms. Gillig. You’re now one of my favorite writers.
