One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Holy Shirt, this was so good! I haven’t read a book this fast in years.
No matter how much I enjoy the first book in a series or duology I normally don’t jump immediately to the next book in the series. I am one of those weird readers that likes to read in-between books (don’t ask me why). But I loved this one so much I already have the second one on my nightstand.
It gives Wuthering Heights vibes (spooky and broody) without the toxic romance, an interesting and unique world and magic, absolutely wonderful characters (even the monster is likable, however morally grey), running themes that are relevant to our day and age, a heartbreaking romance, and amazing writing.
Ms. Gillig, you’ve got yourself a new fan.
